SUMMER MINI-SERIES :: On August 15, 22, 29 and September 5th Center Pointe will be answering Centerburg’s biggest questions in a series called ASK ANYTHING. Help us decide which questions to answer on those Sundays (we will send you an email with the dates and questions being answered) also, you will be able to ask additional questions pertaining to that mornings topic via text message. BAPTISM :: Publicly celebrating our death to sin and our new life in Christ is an exciting and significant part of the Christian journey. If you are interested in being baptized, please check your connection pointe card or talk to Pastor Josh so that you can take the step of baptism in your walk with Jesus. In order to be baptized at Center Pointe we ask that you attend a one hour baptism class (to be held on August 29th at 7pm) so that we can hear your story and so that you can ask questions if you have any.

ROOTS ACCELERATED :: a 6 week class in discovering the essential beliefs and behaviors that keep us centered on Jesus has been condensed into 3 Saturday morning meetings lasting 4 hours each. This class is required to become a servant partner at Center Pointe Church. John 6:16-24 has the account of Jesus walking on water. Clint will unpack what these miracles teach us about Jesus and how our lives need to change to honor & worship him!

The ministry to teens at Center Pointe has been good since it started in the fall of 2009. There have been many who have attended bible study on Sunday and Wednesday nights. The Bible was taught, friendships were strengthened, and faith was deepened. Yet, God has been at work in the Wednesday Bible study the most. There were students engaged in ministry on Wednesday night and so it was decided to join God where he was working on Wednesday night to bring support and encouragement to the teens gathered there.
We have thought and prayed about these changes. Students were considered and consulted and as a result a REfocesed Center Pointe Students was launched on May 5th. Here is the new schedule for students and what will be happening on each of these nights.
First and third Wednesdays of the month is Youth Group. This night is led by students from the games to the bible study this night is for students and by students.
The second Wednesday of the month are Quads. These are small groups comprised of 4 students and an adult leader. This night is devoted to learning more about Jesus.
The fourth Wednesday are Quads as well but these weeks are geared toward serving the community of Centerburg in small ways.
We are hoping that by bringing a little more support and structure to Wednesday night as well as giving some training to student leaders, we will make a vibrant ministry to students in Centerburg.
If you are a teen in 6th – 12th grade we invite you to join us and bring a friend with you!
Josh and I have been commenting that we are seeing God move in our lives and the lives of the people who make up Center Pointe! We are so very blessed! We want you all to continue to Invite people you know to Worship Gathering, Include people in relationships and Growth Pointe[s] as well as Invest in serving people without any expectation of return! 2010 LENT CHALLENGE. “What if a group of people intentionally choose to listen to what God is saying to them?” We believe God is speaking to each of us through His Word and His Spirit, and that it takes some deliberate effort to listen to Him in our busy and loud lives. The historical church period of Lent begins February 17. The challenge is for the ENTIRE Center Pointe family to read and listen to God during this time. What would happen? What would God teach us? Center Pointe Family! I wanted you to know that I will miss you all this weekend as I will be speaking at a Jr High winter retreat tonight through Sunday morning. I will be praying that this weekend you will meet with Jesus and worship him “in spirit and truth.”
I would love your prayers for the following:
Safety in travel - I am driving to Michigan and I leave at 1:00 pm
That the Holy Spirit would move among the students, preparing them to hear from God.
That I would not be seen by the students but that they would hear from Jesus concerning their walk with him and the relationship to him.
That I would have the necessary energy as I have to speak 4 times over the next 3 days!
