• SUNDAY August 29 :: ASK ANYTHING continues on this weekend and will run through September 5th at Center Pointe. Below is the list of topics that you chose to cover in our worship gatherings:

1. Week #1 Can I have Tattoos and Piercings and still be a Christian – August 15th
2. Week #2 Doesn’t the Bible say that Christians are to be peaceful? What should we think about war? – August 22nd
3. Week #3 How do I know when it’s God talking to me? – August 29th
4. Week #4 If God is so good and loving, how can he allow so much pain in people’s lives? – September 5th

Don’t forget that you will be able to ask additional questions pertaining to that mornings topic via text message. Be ready to ask your questions and the Pastors of Center Pointe will answer your questions at the end of the worship gathering. • GIVING TO THOSE IN NEED :: This weekend, August 29th at the end of the Worship Gathering we will be gathering money to help those in the Centerburg area who are in need.

• BAPTISM :: Publicly celebrating our death to sin and our new life in Christ is an exciting and significant part of the Christian journey. If you are interested in being baptized, please check your connection pointe card or talk to Pastor Josh so that you can take the step of baptism in your walk with Jesus.  In order to be baptized at Center Pointe we ask that you attend a one hour baptism class (to be held on August 29th at 7pm) so that we can hear your story and so that you can ask questions if you have any. Baptisms will be during the Worship Gathering on September 12, 2010.

• YOUTH GROUP ::  SEPTEMBER 1st @ 7pm - YOUTH GROUP! Students will continue in their study of 1st John. If you or someone you know is in the 6th-12th grade come out and join us (and bring a friend)!  Youth Group is held at the Center Pointe offices.

• YOUTH BREAKFAST RETURNS SEPTEMBER 1ST :: Youth breakfast each Wednesday morning at the Fuller Center, behind 1st Knox bank throughout the school year.  Breakfast starts at 6:45 a.m. and is over by 7:15 – just in time to get to school!  Rides to school from the breakfast are always available.  All youth in grades 6 -12 are invited. Note that if school is delayed, cancelled or scheduled to not be in session, there will be no breakfast.  Please join us for fellowship and food!

• TUESDAY UNIVERSITY FALL CLASSES :: This fall Tuesday University will feature the ROOTS class taught by Josh Franks as well as HOW TO STUDY YOUR BIBLE taught by Clint Bieri. You can register for either of these courses online at centerpointecma.com or you can register by filling out your Connection Pointe Card and putting it in the Joy Basket this weekend.

• CENTRAL DISTRICT CONFERENCE :: Each year churches from eastern Ohio and West Virginia of the Christian and Missionary Alliance gather to encourage each other and pray for each other.  There are several opportunities this year for you to go and join in on the fun!  Next week’s CP Update will have all the information but District Conference this year is being held in Mansfield and will be September 13-15.  If you are able we would invite you to hear more about what God is doing in our District!

• SUNDAY June 20 :: Pastor Josh will continue our study of John’s Gospel: Jesus the gateway to God by preaching about Jesus feeding 5000 people.  John 6:1-15 has the account of this miracle. Josh will unpack what this miracle teaches us and how our lives need to change as a result!

• STARTING POINTE :: If you are new to Center Pointe within the last four months there will be a get-to-know-us meeting after Worship Gathering on June 27th.  If you did not receive an invitation card to Starting Pointe please fill out the Connection Pointe Card online, and of course you are invited!

• ROOTS ACCELERATED :: a 6 week class in discovering the essential beliefs and behaviors that keep us centered on Jesus has been condensed into 3 Saturday morning meetings lasting 4 hours each.  This class is required to become a servant partner at Center Pointe Church. Instructor: Josh Franks/Clint Bieri; Meeting Time: Saturday morning from 8a-12p; Meeting Location:Center Pointe Offices; Meeting Duration: 3 Saturdays on the following dates: July 10, July 24 & August 7; Cost:$20 for adults and $10 for students (register by clicking here. • SUNDAY June 13 :: Chris and Marie Lang will be joining us this week during the worship gathering. They are currently raising support in order to join the ministry at Frontiers.  This weekend come prepared to hear how you can personally partner with them in ministry to advance the gospel to people around the world.  Begin to pray about how God would use you to encourage the Lang’s with a financial gift.  We will be passing the Joy Baskets at the end of the Worship Gathering to collect gifts for the Lang’s Ministry with Frontiers.

• YOUTH GROUP ::  JUNE 16 Center Pointe Students will take a break from mid-week activities because so many of our students will be at the ICHTHUS MUSIC FESTIVAL! Youth Group will continue on Wednesday night June 23rd at 7pm!

• STARTING POINTE :: After the Worship Gathering on June 27th there will be a time for people who are new to Center Pointe within the last 4 months or so to meet together.  If you are new to Center Pointe and would like to meet some people and hear more about what God is doing at Center Pointe Church please join us.

Grab your family, a friend, and a Frisbee and join us for a taste of community at Centerburg Park this summer. We will meet on three Sunday nights and on these dates: June 20, July 18 & August 22 at 6:00pm.

This is what you’ll need to bring:

• Your own meat to grill, and buns for hotdogs and burgers
